“Please convey to the CHESS committee my heartiest congratulations on a wonderful luncheon that you organised. The speakers were great, the food was good and it was great to re-connect with some of my old class-mates. Well done.”
On a sunny but cold Sunday afternoon in July, the Ex-Students committee welcomed 60 guests to the Mid-Year Luncheon at Box Hill Golf Club. Ex-students from 1941 to 2013 mingled and exchanged different memories.
We were privileged to have former Principal, Elida Brereton, speak and she regaled us with hilarious stories of her 15 years at the school and her short, but memorable career, as Miss Murray on the ABC program Summer Heights High.
It was also very good to welcome former Principal Ann Rusden, whose support and encouragement is always appreciated, and ex-students who travelled from Launceston, Perth and our Canberra Chapter. The current school council president, Ngaire Burn, also spoke briefly about current works that are occurring at the school.
